Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
