Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
